Description

This Nikon SMZ-2T Stereomicroscope is mounted on a Diascopic Base made by Di-Ag Nostic Instruments. This base gives the operator a variety of lighting options. It has a 150 watt variable-intensity halogen bulb, and you can use this for both brightfield, and by removing the white glass diffuser baseplate- darkfield work. The Nikon SMZ-2T Trinocular head will zoom continously from 1X to 7X, so with the Nikon 10X-21 Widefield eyepieces on this, magnfication is from 10X to 70X. Also included is a Nikon 0.5X bottom objective, which will halve the magnification, but double the working distance. On this microscope, that gives you a full 8" of working distance! This microscope is part of the Nikon Stereomicroscope series, and will accept other eyepieces and objectives. The Trinocular port gives you convenient access to add a Video or Digital Camera, with a simple adapter (not included).
