Description

The Newport VGM-1BD Vertical-Drive Gimbal Optical Mount is nearly identical to the standard VGM-1 Version, with the exception that it includes BD Differential Micrometers. These micrometers give the ultimate in precision and control and are subsequently-more expensive! The VGM series is desireable because of the way the micrometers are mounted- both on the same side. In this way the mount can be oriented so the micrometers are vertical or horizontal, whichever is easier for your application. The mikes can be adjusted easily, while keeping hands out of the beam path. Total travel on each axis is plus or minus 2 degrees. Another feature of this mount is the kinematic spheres which locate the front face of the optic element precisely the same place every time.
