Description

The Newport 925B Compensated Attenuator is used for fine control of the beam intensity of a laser passing through it. This is done by moving two matched wedge-shaped filters in opposing direction. These filters are made of BK-7 and are coated with a linear-variable aluminum neutral density coating and a broadband anti-reflection coating. These filters are matched for minimum beam deflection. The optimum wavelength is 440nm to 690nm, but can go up to 1550 nm if some loss of maximum transmission is acceptable. Damage Threshold is 75W/cm squared CW, 10Mj/cm squared wotj 10nsec pulses. Not recommended for high-energy pulsed laser use.
